 Applications are welcome from students at sponsoring educational institutions as well as individuals that have some experience in the film and television industry and wish to volunteer their time and talents while gaining practicum experience in production. 

Positions available include:

  • Trainee Assistant Directors/ Production Assistants X 2
  • Grips/Electrics Swing X 2
  • Art Department Assistants X 4
  • Camera Trainees X 2
  • Sound Boom Operators X 2

APPLICATION DEADLINE: November 30

If you are a student in one of the sponsoring educational institutions contact your program's lead instructor for more information about additional internal adjudication criteria and timelines.

Full and partial scholarships that cover tuition, registration, meals and shared accommodations at The Banff Centre are available.  Applicants may be required to cover the costs of their own travel, unless otherwise sponsored. 

Final selections are scheduled to be completed by December 15th.  Applicants that are selected will be notified by email and telephone.

All applicants will be notified of their status via email. Some applicants will be invited to remain on stand-by should there be cancellations.
