CTV WIDC DIRECTOR DEVELOPMENT AWARD 2009 APPLICATIONS

OVERVIEW

Through the generosity of the CTV / CHUM Benefits, a $10,000 cash prize has been created for a deserving women director as an incentive towards the development of her directing skills and/or her next directing project.  The award funds may be used to provide a subsistence or honorarium while the director partakes of opportunities such as shadowing a master director on a television series, towards the costs of attending festivals or markets including the Banff World Television Festival, MIP, or the costs of professional development programs like the WIDC program[1] if she is not already an alumna, or other recognized programs.

The funds may also be directed towards the development or production of her next directing project.  Funds may be used in this case, for example to pay a story editor, the director's own fees as a creator, or to have the project workshopped by actors, or towards the production of a teaser or short demo of the project.

The award will be presented at the annual WIDC Launch Event during the BANFF World Television Festival, Banff Alberta.
