After 15 years of producing her own work, Katie launched into the freelance world of writing and directing with great success in 2006. Since then, she has logged lots of hours behind the camera directing television and video productions and is currently one of a team of directors for OLN’s TRUTH, DUTY, VALOUR.

From 1991 to 2006, Katie produced and directed everything from sports series to historical docu-drama. She was honoured as Ottawa's best director for her debut short film and was supported by Women in the Director's Chair, Canada Council, Ontario Arts Council, OMDC's Calling Card Program, CTV Fellowship and Telefilm Canada.

By 2003, she had written and directed, two dramatic television series, a movie-of-the-week, and her first feature film, POSERS, which screened at festivals across Canada. She continues to work on behalf of women directors as a board member of Creative Women Workshops.
